See "Amazing Grace"

As a sort of unintentional follow-up to my recent post on the modern slave trade, I happened to rent and watch the movie Amazing Grace. It's the story of William Wilberforce, the British Member of Parliament in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries who led a many-year political battle to end the slave trade in the British Empire. It was finally banned in 1807 (the movie was released in March 2007 to coincide with this anniversary). This is an excellent and very engaging movie that is also inspiring and educational. Highly recommended.
