It was a beautiful launch (which I had to watch silently in a tiny window during a video meeting, but at least I got to see it), and now New Horizons is on its way to Pluto! The picture is from an Orbiter simulation of the mission that I discussed here a month or so ago. It shows the STAR 48B third stage burning to complete the ejection for Pluto.
I love NASA press kits and I love the fact that thanks to the Web, you don't have to be "press" to get a press kit. Or is it that everybody with a blog is some sort of "press?" The 40 page New Horizons press kit is here [1 MB PDF].
