Last fall, the Aldrich Astronomical Society (AAS) was honored to receive the $2500 Out-of-this-World Award for 2007 from Astronomy Magazine, in recognition of its many educational and public outreach activities (I'm pleased to be an Aldrich member and to contribute to some of those events). This week, AAS president Jim Zebrowski was interviewed for the magazine's podcast (mp3), talking about Aldrich and about what it takes to be recognized for astronomy outreach (short answer: active membership, and working to make a difference for the community).
